AIX was invited by PT Socfin Indonesia and the SCOPEX 2026 organizing committee to speak in Medan. The session was titled "AI Applications in Oil Palm: From Yield Forecasting to Smart Farming". It examined the industry's shift from reactive plantation management to predictive management.

Three ideas from the session:

1. Getting ahead of the biological time lag. Yield responds to stress many months later. Predictive forecasting and deep learning surface the signal early, before it reaches the bottom line.

2. The hybrid engine. Vision AI reads the health of each palm, and agronomic machine learning reads climate, progeny, and nutrient data. Together they build a working digital twin of the plantation.

3. Precision in the field. Teams move beyond block averages toward tracking individual palms, so that attention goes where the crop needs it.
